Planning a Visit to Rose Hill
Whether you’re exploring faith for the first time or looking for a church home in Columbia, we’d love to have you join us this Sunday. Here are answers to a few common questions guests have before visiting.
What should I expect in worship?
Worship is liturgical, reverent, and gospel-centered, featuring expositional biblical preaching, corporate prayer, a mix of traditional hymns and more recent songs, and weekly Communion.
The best way to get a feel for our service is to check out one of our recent streams on YouTube or Facebook before you come!
What should I wear?
While most of us wear our Sunday best, some of us wear business casual or jeans. No dress code required – you’ll fit right in whether you’re dressed up or kept it casual.
What about my children?
We highly encourage worshipers to bring their kids to learn to participate in worship! We are a multi-generational congregation and we are well-accustomed to little noises.
A nursery is also provided for young children during Sunday School and morning worship. Children are always welcome to participate in Children’s Sunday School as well.
Where do I park and enter?
South Saluda Avenue Lot: A small lot off South Saluda Avenue on the east side of the church. You may enter through any of the front doors prior to worship.
Gregg Street Lot: A larger lot located at 220 S. Gregg Street. You may enter through the rear hallway of the Education Wing for easy access to Sunday School and the nursery.
What exactly is Sunday School?
Sunday School is an informal time where we dive into a lesson on a theological topic—frequently as part of an ongoing series. During this hour, adults meet together in the fellowship hall, while children attend a class tailored specifically with information at their level.
What happens after Sunday School?
Currently, we enjoy fellowship and serve refreshments outside (weather permitting) between Sunday School and morning worship. You are welcome to join us outside or head in early to grab a seat in the sanctuary.
What happens after the service?
After worship, most folks enjoy a time of fellowship, meeting visitors, and catching up before heading home. On the 3rd Sunday of every month, we invite you to join us for a covered-dish Fellowship Meal—there is always more than enough food to share!
